've been living in a cave for the past year, you know that on 3 April 2010 end analog television broadcasts . Its replacement is the vaunted TDT, which promises us the moon and the stars.
According to the latest report Weekly Report (issued in TVE), DTT has an image quality "infinite" (ie textual). I suppose that is a stylistic device used badly, because obviously that does not exist. Not only that, but also the quality of DTT there is nothing miraculous. Unlike people Weekly Report, I'll give reasons testable and I will simply say slogans beautiful.
DTT system is obsolete
Spain has chosen to issue the DTT using DVB-T standard that NO is capable of emitting signals in high definition (HD from now on). This system (DVB-T) provides a series of "pipes" through which channels are broadcast. Spain has decided that each of these pipelines will be issued 4 channels. The choice of 4 channels is not random, but coincides with the "size" they had the channels in the old system PAL. This does not mean that quality is the same so far, but it will not be much higher.
going to cost us Dodo egg
DVB-T has a successor, DVB-T2 partly solves these problems, allowing for DTT broadcasting in HD. Spain plans to issue in DVB-T2 in 2012. Where is the problem? That recipients who are buying now are DVB-T and are not compatible with DVB-T2. In other words, whether or not Spain broadcast in DVB-T2 in 2012, we will throw our decoders and buy others.
does not solve any problem
People had no complaints with the quality of analog television. Certainly not going to complain if it improves, of course, but not the primary concern. The main problem was (and remains with DTT) that regardless of the number of channels, the amount emitted per channel shit is huge. People want quality programs and watch the program you want when you want. DTT does not solve any of these things.
Where's the interactivity? Another
marketing phrases is that DTT will bring the "power" users, which will provide a great "interactivity." I have had to sell me a different TDT that they announce. NO DTT provides interactivity of any kind. This is easily demonstrated using the following questionnaire: Can
users to exchange opinions on the program are Sharing NO
Can users vote your favorite? NO
Can users recommend programs to other users? NO , unless to do so as life, talking to them and telling them that the program yesterday that will not be able to see was good.
Can users choose what you going to see? NO.
Where is the interactivity bucking then? What do these people for interactivity?
Am I angry at DTT?
No, not the least. Technology just seems to me born dead. I do not remember the last time I turned on the TV to watch a program. My parents do. I did not even I have TV in my house, or want.
With the PAL system or the new DTT, I am subject to only see what they offer in a given time. I can not stop it if they call me, I can still see tomorrow if I have a dream, I can not see it on my iPod go to class, etc ...
The logical step would be to make an analogue switch to bring Internet TV to households, Analog television not coded ones and zeros that no one cares. Previous generations used to mine and used DTT analog. Subsequent series will download the Internet in the language they want, with subtitles of their choice and see when and where they choose.
DTT now can be implanted, but died at the same time they decided to ignore the demands of the generation to which it serves.
